This Privacy Policy describes how the BTA Charts custom visuals for Microsoft Power BI (the “Visuals”), published by Beyond the Analytics, handle your data. It also covers this documentation website.
Summary
The Visuals do not collect, store, transmit, or share any data. They contain no telemetry, analytics, tracking, or advertising, and they make no external network requests. All chart rendering happens locally, inside the Power BI sandbox, on your own device.
Data you bind to a Visual
When you add fields to a Visual’s field wells, Power BI passes that data to the Visual so it can draw the chart. This data is processed entirely in memory, within the secure sandbox that Power BI runs each custom visual in, for the sole purpose of rendering the chart you see. The Visuals do not copy, persist, export, or send this data anywhere — it never leaves your Power BI environment.
No external connections
The Visuals load no third-party scripts, fonts, or resources at runtime and open no outbound connections of any kind. This is verifiable: the Visuals pass Microsoft’s custom visual certification audit, which scans for and rejects external network requests.
Cookies and tracking
The Visuals use no cookies and no tracking technologies. This documentation website uses no third-party analytics and sets no advertising or tracking cookies; it does not collect personal information about visitors.
Data security
Because the Visuals neither transmit nor store data outside of Power BI, the security and privacy of your data remain governed by Microsoft Power BI’s own controls and by your organization’s policies. Please refer to the Microsoft Privacy Statement for how Power BI handles your data.
Children’s privacy
The Visuals are a business-intelligence tool not directed at children and do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
